Study Guides from Pictures & Handwritten Notes

Built-in image OCR is not available yet. For photos of notes, whiteboards or worksheets, run OCR in another app (or type the important parts), then paste the extracted text here. Upcoming OCR will make this a one-step upload.

Paste extracted text / upcoming OCR

We do not claim image upload OCR works today. Extract text first, then use the Paste text tab.

Phone OCR options

Many phones can live-text a photo. Copy that text and paste it into Study Guide Maker.

Label diagrams in words

Describe diagram parts in text (“mitochondrion: inner membrane folds = cristae”) so they appear in the guide.

How to make a study guide with AI in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Add your material

Upload a PDF, PowerPoint, Word or text file — or paste your notes.

  2. 2

    Get your guide

Study Guide Maker builds an outline, key concepts, glossary, practice questions, and flashcards, and tags every point with the page it came from.

  3. 3

    Study, print, or share

Quiz yourself right on the page, flip through flashcards, or export to PDF, Word and CSV.

Cellular Respiration

Cellular respiration is how cells turn the chemical energy in glucose into ATP. It happens in three stages — glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain — and releases carbon dioxide and water as by-products.

  1. 1. Overview of cellular respiration

    • Overall equation: C6H12O6 + 6 O2 → 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + energy (ATP + heat).p. 1
    • Aerobic respiration needs oxygen and yields far more ATP than fermentation.p. 1
  2. 2. Glycolysis

    • Glucose is split into two pyruvate molecules in the cytoplasm, producing a net gain of 2 ATP and 2 NADH.p. 2
    • Glycolysis does not require oxygen.p. 2
  3. 3. Krebs (citric acid) cycle

    • Takes place in the mitochondrial matrix; each acetyl-CoA produces 3 NADH, 1 FADH2, 1 ATP and 2 CO2.p. 3
  4. 4. Electron transport chain

    • Located in the inner mitochondrial membrane; NADH and FADH2 donate electrons that pump H+ ions and drive ATP synthase.p. 4
    • Oxygen is the final electron acceptor and forms water.p. 4

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a JPG or PNG of my notes?

Not for OCR yet. Paste the text you extract from the image. Image OCR is on the roadmap.

Will upcoming OCR store my photos?

Product details will be published when OCR ships. Today, pasted text is sent only to generate the guide; we do not store your source text.
