Welcome to studyguidemaker.net. Study Guide Maker turns study materials you provide—PDF, PowerPoint, Word, or pasted text—into AI study guides, practice questions, and flashcards with page citations. Teacher mode is also available. A limited free trial is available (anonymous daily use and a free monthly allowance for signed-in users); it is not unlimited free use.
This Privacy Policy explains how Study Guide Maker collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our service, and what you can access or delete.
To provide study-guide tools and keep the service running, we collect the following categories of information:
Account details: Your email address, name, sign-in method (email or Google), profile details, and account settings.
Study content: Text extracted from files you choose (parsed in your browser) or text you paste, which is sent to our servers to generate your study guide. If you are signed in, generated study guides you save are stored in your account.
Payment and billing records: Records of credit-pack purchases, subscriptions, credit balances, and refund histories. Payments are processed through Stripe; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Device and usage logs: Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, product interaction events, access timestamps, and security logs. Limited free-use counters may use a salted network identifier together with a device cookie.

We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in (session), help enforce limited free use (device limit cookie), remember preferences, and analyze site usage.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not run ads on the site. You can limit or clear cookies in your browser. If you turn cookies off, sign-in and some features may not work.

Operate core features: Generate study guides, practice questions, and flashcards from the text you provide, including Teacher mode when you use it.
Manage accounts: Keep you signed in, apply the limited free trial and paid credits or subscriptions, and show saved guides.
Handle payments and billing: Work with Stripe to verify transactions, grant credits, renew subscriptions, and address disputes or refund requests.
Maintain security: Monitor service health, prevent abuse, and protect users and the platform.
Service communications: Send account emails such as receipts, security notices, and support replies.

We do not sell personal data. We share necessary data only with the following service roles to fulfill your requests and operate the platform:
Payment processing: Stripe processes payments and billing transactions securely.
AI model provider: Extracted text is sent to an external AI model provider solely to fulfill your generation request.
Hosting and infrastructure: Cloudflare hosts the website, provides content delivery, and helps protect against malicious traffic.
Email delivery: An email provider sends account and support messages.
Legal authorities: Public authorities, law enforcement, or courts when disclosure is required by applicable law or strictly necessary to protect rights and safety.
When you upload a PDF, PowerPoint, Word, or text file, the file is parsed in your browser. The extracted text (or text you paste) is sent to our servers and to an external AI model provider to generate your study guide, practice questions, or flashcards.
If you are signed in, the generated study guide may be saved to your account so you can open it again.
All payments, subscriptions, credit purchases, and billing adjustments on Study Guide Maker are handled by Stripe.
Your full card number, expiration date, and security code are submitted directly to Stripe through encrypted connections; our servers never store or handle complete card numbers. We retain only the order identifiers, plan details, credit records, and refund transactions needed to provide the service and resolve billing questions. For refund details, see our Refund Policy.
Account details stay while you use the account. Saved guides stay in your account until you delete them or delete your account.
To deliver the service, our infrastructure and partners—including Cloudflare, Stripe, the AI model provider, and the email provider—may process data on servers outside your country of residence. Data protection standards in those places may differ from those where you live.
We apply standard administrative and technical safeguards, including encryption for data in transit and restricted access to backend systems. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, restrict, or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
In Settings you can manage your profile, credits, billing, and notifications. Security settings include a Delete Account button. You can also contact us to request access or deletion.
To exercise these rights, email support@studyguidemaker.net. We may ask for proof of identity to confirm the request is from the account owner.
Study Guide Maker is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please notify us at support@studyguidemaker.net. We will review the matter and take steps to remove the data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with the revision date in the page metadata. Continued use of Study Guide Maker after changes are posted indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
